Prague: three nights before the cruise

Begin in Prague with accommodations at the Alcron Hotel or a similar property, subject to change. The program includes a transfer and a round of golf in Prague. Time away from the course can be used to discover Prague Castle, historic neighborhoods and the city’s celebrated architecture, or to enjoy a Czech beer tasting.

Vilshofen to Budapest: seven nights aboard AmaMagna

Travel by included transfer to Vilshofen, where you embark on AmaMagna for the Danube voyage. The river itinerary introduces destinations such as Passau, Linz, Grein, Melk, Spitz, Vienna and Bratislava before reaching Budapest. Depending on the sailing, non-golf experiences may include walking, cycling and hiking tours; castles and abbeys; regional food and wine; and excursions to Salzburg, the Austrian Lake District or Český Krumlov.

Golf days are planned around prearranged morning tee times. Because AmaMagna commonly sails later in the evening, golfers may still have time after their rounds to dine ashore, walk through town or rejoin the ship’s activities.

Budapest: two nights after disembarkation

After leaving AmaMagna, remain in Budapest for two nights. Explore the capital’s grand riverfront and historic districts, with optional golf available for guests who would like one more round before flying home.

The precise sequence of courses, ports and shore activities can vary by departure. Your quotation and final travel documents will identify the arrangements for your selected sailing.

Albatross Golf Resort — Prague, Czech Republic

A host venue of the Czech Open, Albatross provides a polished beginning to the journey. Keith Preston designed the course, which opened in 2009 on a hillside near the Český Kras Nature Reserve. Water, bunkering and mature landscaping contribute to a strategic test in a scenic setting.

Quellness Golf Resort — Bad Griesbach, Germany

Quellness is associated with the Porsche European Open and staged PGA European Tour competition from 2013 through 2017. Its location in one of Germany’s best-known golf regions makes it a natural fit for the Danube route.

Diamond Country Club — Atzenbrugg, Austria

The Diamond Course has hosted the Lyoness Austrian Open. Thoughtful course management matters here: water hazards, precise landing areas and tournament-standard conditioning reward disciplined play.

Penati Golf Resort — Senica, Slovakia

Penati’s Legends Course, created by Nicklaus Design to USGA standards, has hosted the Slovakian Open. Its memorable challenges include a 716-meter—or 787-yard—par-6 15th hole.

Pannónia Golf & Country Club — Máriavölgy, Hungary

This Hungarian Open venue was designed by Hans G. Erhardt. Set in a valley, it combines varied fairway contours, hilly greens, six teeing options and lakes that influence play on eight holes.

Optional golf near Vienna and Budapest

Golf Club Adamstal, approximately one hour from Vienna, may be offered as an additional round. It is a PGA European Tour venue known for its dramatic landscape. An optional post-cruise round at Zala Springs Golf Resort may also be available to guests staying in Budapest.

Your clubs travel ahead of you

One of the most valuable luxuries on this itinerary is also one of the most practical. Before the first golf outing in Prague, guests check their bags with the Golf Ahoy Golf Cruises Golf Concierge. The clubs then follow the route by secure, insured van and are waiting at the appropriate course on each golf day.

After a round, the team handles onward transportation and cleans the clubs. There is no need to store a golf travel bag in your cabin or carry it down a gangway. This hands-free service is particularly welcome on a multi-country journey, where effortless transitions make an enormous difference.

There are seven lakes on the course covering more than 20,000 square meters, 65 sand traps, and more than 1200 newly planted mature trees adorning the landscape. Atzenbrugg, Austria, is the host of the Lyoness Austrian Open. The Nicklaus Design LEGEND COURSE complies with USGA standards at the world PGA level. 60% of the world’s golf courses that host PGA tournaments have been designed by Nicklaus Design.

Along with many other scenic features, this course counts the longest hole in Europe among its challenges. The 716-meter, 787-yard Par 6 15th hole is ready to be challenged. Offering 11 tees, the view alone is fascinating.

PANNONIA GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB

Budapest, Hungary. The host of the Hungarian Open. The 18-hole golf course of Pannonia Golf & Country Club was designed by the famous Austrian course designer Hans G. Erhardt. The golf course lies in a valley, so the varied forms of its fairways provide a great golf experience. Lakes come into play at eight holes, and pin placements may challenge the hilly greens. With 6 different tee boxes, beginners and advanced players can get a true, fair assessment of their golf skills. The natural environment and carefully maintained course inspire golfers to shoot well. Erhardt also designed Fontana’s golf course, which has hosted the Austrian Open for many years, and believes that Pannonia is still the best course in Hungary.

We have added an optional round of golf on the Vienna day, which will take us to a fantastic golf course about 1 hour from Vienna. Golf Digest described Adamstal as “probably the most beautiful golf course on the planet.” It is a PGA European Tour venue.
